A Spanish Market

We have been going to Mallorca for years and similar to our mini moon last year ( http://vintique-tree.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/mediterranean-moments.html ) we wanted to do something that takes us away from the crazy tourist areas and into the local culture. So armed with our map we set out into Mallorca's most central town Sineu. A farmers market come brocante has been happening here every Wednesday for hundreds of years and although there are stalls for the tourists to enjoy it still has the essence of its orgins with a animal quarter and local home grown produce. Worth a trip this summer!

I wanted to bring one of these handmade sinks home! So nice!

In the english countryside

Well its been a while since my last post, with upholstery courses, crazy busy with work and celebrating the hubbies 30th and my best friends wedding it has been super hectic!

So I thought I would kick start my blog again with this post, a friend and I went to an antiques valuation day at our local National Trust country house Calke Abbey. Set in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside Calke is maintained as a 'country house in decline' and has been left in a certain state of repair by the trust. Never the less it has a lovely cafe and stunning grounds for a walk. We didnt get to go in the house or the gardens but from previous visits they are fun to explore too!

Oh I do like tea beside the seaside...

Last weekend we took a trip out to Anglesey. For our wedding we had the most amazing! gelato served by the friendly chap from Red Boat gelato http://www.redboatgelato.com/ based in Beaumaris.
After much delibration and tasting! we chose three flavours for our big day, jammy dodger, ferro rocher and sticky toffee pudding. They were amazing and the guests were going back for seconds so they must have thought so too! Although because we had three flavours there were left overs (hooray) so we tripped up to Beaumaris to collect.

If you ever visit Red boat is a must!!

Another delicious treat can be had a Beau's Tea rooms https://www.facebook.com/beaustearoom . It is a delightful little place filled with homemade cakes and food (I recommend the cream tea yummy scones!) Whilst you enjoy your food you are tempted with vintage china and tea sets that decorate the windows and make a gorgeous display. Another place worth a visit!!

Tucked around a corner is this pretty litte court yard, this pink shop was my favourite full of lovely things for your home :-)

We stopped at Conwy on the way back

And the sun come out to say hello...

As did this seagull when he saw our fish and chips

Mediterranean moments

Its been a while since my last post as I have been busy getting hitched! Cant wait for the pictures to arrive but in the meantime thought I would share some of our mini-moon pictures with you, we went to one of favourite places in the world Mallorca. Every time we go we love the easy living, the fresh food, the people and the culture. We stopped in the east of the island and hired a car to explore. Next time you go step away from the obvious beach resorts and find the real Mallorca!

Along the wharf  fishermen fix their nets by hand. They plait the nets together - serious craftsmanship!

One of our favourite little town in Mallorca has the most amazing and pretty square perfect for a crepe and a cup of coffee!

This looks more like a French scene than Spanish! This is a tiny bar which has live jazz on Wednesday nights

We went to a look out point and added our lock to the railings, in a similar tradition to the pont de arts in Paris, it signifies your love...being as we just got married we thought we would part take!

Patchwork pretty, funking knitting, cute crochet, god save the queen!!

I am updating my website at the moment to a new layout to make it easier to use and look a lot more sleeker.  It is a constant evolution as I learn new things and pick up on things that need updating and changing, I think I have come on leaps and bounds really, being as I didn't have a clue on how to even start building a website at the start of this year!

So in preparation for the new website going live this week, I have some new stock I am going to be adding to the site, so I thought I would share some of my new blankets with you! All handmade lovelies!! Oh and a GIANT 9FT vintage Union Jack!
